This summer has been quite busy and we haven't made it to the pool as often as I would have liked, but we did take advantage of one 'free day' to go and check out the new pool in Ames. We donated one personal hygiene item per person to get in for free and Henry had a BLAST! There is a big childrens area that he had fun in, but he really didn't like the big bucket of water that would splash down on everyone. Here are some pictures from the afternoon.
He really wanted to be out swimming by the rope, but it was over his head (I think it was 36 inches). This didn't seem to bother him as he kept trying to go back to the rope into the deeper water.
He wouldn't go down the slide alone, so Pete took him and he didn't want to do it again. Sometimes I am really surprised at what he likes and dislikes.
We were there for a long time and even the thought of going home to eat dinner, that's right FOOD, couldn't get him happily out of the pool. Hopefully we'll get back one more time this year.
