Christmas

We had a good Christmas this year. All of us were a bit sick (cough, congestion, Mae had strep), but nothing too serious, thankfully. As always the kids were very excited for Christmas to finally arrive.

We went to Oma and Opa Lasley's house for a few days before Christmas and enjoyed time there with family. We especially enjoyed seeing family members that live far away. We spent Christmas day at home while the kids enjoyed all of their new things. Some of the highlights were: Lego watches, dolls, dart guns, jewelry, pajamas, and books.

Henry made a gingerbread house bag to carry his gingerbread house home from school.

Legos!

I love to play with dollies

We decided to go and do something for Christmas this year instead of getting our kids their own gifts. After giving them some choices, they decided that all they wanted to do was sleep in a hotel, swim in the pool, eat breakfast at the hotel, and maybe could we also go to a restaurant? We ended up staying at a hotel that has more than a standard swimming pool, but it wasn't a true waterpark hotel. Perfect fit for our family and the kids had a blast!

Our adventure started with us visiting Liberty Jail, which the kids have never been too. After that we did some quick shopping and then headed over to the hotel. We let the kids swim for awhile and then we went to Steak N Shake for dinner. Back to the hotel for tv and bed time - they were all worn out from swimming and being a little sick. The next morning we had breakfast at the hotel, swam some more and then had to checkout. After that we went to BassPro Shops, which the kids thought was a really neat place. After a busy couple of days, we were all ready to go home. It was New Years Eve, so we had some fun snacks when we got home and I let the kids stay up until 8:00. I found a video online and let the kids ring in the New Year with London and then Brazil. London was much better. Such a fun weekend that I'll remember for awhile. So glad we did this.

Henry enjoyed the pool

This pool was only 1ft deep and Mae LOVED it!

Happy girl!

Pete had fun on the slide, too.
