Christmas

We were able to spend a couple of days before Christmas at Oma's house, which the kids always enjoy. We took them to see the movie, Ferdinand, which they loved and I thought was okay. It is always a treat for them to go to the theater and they were very excited to see the movie. Shortly before going back home Mae broke her finger (more on that in another post) and the rest of our plans changed.

We got 3 or 4 inches of snow the night before Christmas Eve and the kids were very happy about having a white Christmas. I don't share the same enthusiasm for snow and am hoping it doesn't last long as it typically melts off within a week.

Christmas morning the kids were up early looking through their stockings. It is fun to hear them talking to each other about what they got. The excitement of Christmas for them is really fun for me. Once we were all up and ready we opened up presents. They got lots of fun things to play with and had a great day trying everything out. We had french meat pie, cheesy potato casserole, green salad and egg nog for dinner. We also watched It's a wonderful life and Miracle on 34th street. It was a great day with our family.
