Spring planting and birds

At the beginning of April we were able to get two apple trees and two blueberry bushes planted. We had talked about doing this since we moved here, but finally got it done. The apple trees were bare and looked like we planted a random tree branch. With a cool and very wet spring they have grown a lot and seem to be doing quite well. The blueberries are not as happy about the cool and wet spring and are okay, but not really thriving. Part of the problem is that they were greenhouse plants, so it has been a tough adjustment, but I hope in time they will produce delicious berries.

We also planted a vegetable garden, but I don't have any pictures of it.

We also had some house finches build a nest in our shutter by the bay window. Although the kids play out there often and are quite noisy, they still built a nest there. The Mama bird would make a lot of noise when we were out there and she was trying to feed them. She also didn't like me trying to take a picture (I wasn't able to get one of her), but managed to get one of the babies poking their heads out. They are big enough now that they have flown away.
