Halloween

The kids were very excited for Halloween this year and Mae was ready to trick-or-treat. After some difficult decisions were made, Henry went as a black belt in karate, Anne was a witch, and Mae was Minnie Mouse.

Mae had a party at story time at the library, and Anne and Henry had class parties at school. We also went to a carnival at the High School, which is put on by all the clubs at the HS. The kids enjoyed playing games and Henry won 2nd place in the 2nd grade boys category of the costume contest. Much to my surprise, he stood in front of a big group of people and performed some 'karate' moves while the judging was taking place. He told me he thinks that is what helped him win. He was able to buy some markers with his prize money, which he is happy about.

It was a warm night for trick-or-treating and the kids were thrilled with all the candy they got. We had very low attendance at our house, and I've been eating too much left over candy. Thankful Halloween is only once a year.
