Temple Open House

We decided to take the kids to the Indianapolis Temple open house at the beginning of August. Although we attend the temple every month, the kids don't get to be inside and they don't really remember the Kansas City Temple open house (3 years ago). Due to road work it ended up being about a 7 hour drive and the kids couldn't believe how long it was taking to get to the temple. This lead to a great discussion about how blessed we are to have so many temples closer to us. Anyways, we survived the road trip and had a great experience in the temple as a family. Mae was very excited to see water (the baptismal font) and I was able to talk to Anne about her wedding day and getting married in the temple (since she talks about getting married often). It is a smaller temple, but it is beautiful and it was a beautiful day too. I am glad we took the opportunity to take the kids there.

After we toured the temple we drove for a couple hours and then found a hotel for the night. The kids always love staying in hotels and the only disappointment was that we didn't go swimming (because of Anne's arm being in a splint). Tv, hotel breakfast and an elevator were enough to keep them happy though.

The kids loved the fountain
This is one of our best family pictures

So difficult to get a nice picture
