In June we were able to attend the Keenan Family Reunion out in Idaho. We had a great time and it was great getting to see everyone especially all the nieces/nephews/cousins that are growing up so fast! We did miss Silas, Michelle and Mackenzie though and hope to see them sometime soon.
We decided to take a leisurely drive out there and broke it down into 3 part days of driving. This made it MUCH more enjoyable and we were able to stop and have some fun along the way. I spotted a turtle crossing the road somewhere in Nebraska and we stopped and Pete helped it get safely across the street.

We also stopped and had lunch at this rest stop that had a train parked there and Henry LOVED taking a much needed break from his car seat to drive the train for awhile. He ate a very small lunch because he just wanted to play on the train and once we were back in the car...he wanted to eat. :)

At long last we made it to Idaho and the only real problem that we ran into along the way was finding hotels to sleep in. For whatever reason, if you're traveling through the middle of nowhere all the hotels are booked. Since we didn't know where we would be each night we had not made reservations, so we had to be flexible in where we stayed.
While at the reunion we spent two days in Yellowstone National Park and it was amazing. It's hard to believe that there are so many different things you can see in one (large) place. Henry did not enjoy the amount of car time that was involved, but tells people about the bison and Old Faithful that he saw in Yellowstone. Pete and I would love to go back someday to camp and do some more hiking. I would need to be in a non-pregnant state to do this though.

Old Faithful

Despite all the riding in the car, this was Henry's preferred way to see the sights.

Bubbling mud pits

We also stopped at another lookout point for this waterfall and it was a bit terrifying. There was so much water going so fast and the railings we're quite enough for me to feel safe.

We also managed to get some pictures of all the grand kids (minus Mackenzie). It's difficult to take a picture of 8 kids so these are my best shots. Even Grandma got distracted sometimes. :)

I felt the EXACT same way about those waterfalls when we went last year! I still have nightmares sometimes.
