Backyard project

Pete has been busy over the past year working on our back yard. When we moved in there was a lap pool right in the middle of the back yard. We gave the pool a try for one summer, but for many reasons decided to get rid of it. The past year has been a long process getting rid of it and I am so excited to finally have a back yard for the kids. We still have some projects for the yard that will hopefully be done in the spring, but right now I am loving the grass.

The before picture- we have another strip of yard behind the wooden fence
Fencing gone and pool drained
pool liner removed and cutting the sidewalk for easier removal
Removing the concrete was very time consuming
Pete and Henry at work
bottom of the pool is broken up and one side has the steel wall removed. The braces for the walls were another time consuming project
Pile of scrap steel
All parts are gone!
One giant hole
We had around 500 landscaping bricks to remove for the dirt work to be done. I helped out with this part.
Hired a contractor to fill in the hole and regrade the yard.
We're keeping the concrete pad at the end for a shed.
Grass growing- just reseeded it to fill in some spots
Our yard!
The neighbors all think Pete is crazy for doing so much of the work himself, but he enjoyed the work and he was able to do it the way he wanted to.
