Mae has grown up so fast and it's hard to believe that she is already 1. We had a very low key birthday as Pete unexpectedly had to be out of town. We had some cake on her birthday and waited to do presents when Pete was home. Mae loved being sung to and enjoyed the cake, too. Opening presents was a new concept and the older kids really wanted to 'help' her along. I think she is enjoying her new things (and Anne is too).
Here are some fun things about Mae:
- 18 lbs 11 oz, 28 3/4 inches
- 4 teeth. Her gums are swollen in a couple other places and they've been that way for awhile. Her teeth are slow to pop through.
- Great napper! She still naps twice a day and will nap for a total of about 3 hours.
- Bedtime thumb sucker- I don't mind because it means she sleeps.
- Her new nickname is SpiderMae as she loves to climb. She had been pulling open the over door, so we bought a lock for it. Now the door doesn't open and she climbs up the door. She can pull herself up to see the stove top. She will also try to climb up the bathroom cabinets this way.
- She has started carrying dolls and stuffed animals around the house and loves to hug them.
- She loves finding phones and then pushing all the buttons.
- She doesn't want to be left out and tries her best to keep up with the other kids.
- She loves going up the stairs, but doesn't like to even try to go down them by herself.
- She loves to dance to music.
- She is loud, loud, loud. Although she doesn't have any real words yet, her presence is always known.
- She pulls Anne's hair, a lot.
- She is starting to fold her arms when we pray. She sees us and tries to copy.
- She keeps me on my toes as she is an adventurous, determined, focused little girl.
